Castle of Spies - Mission 3 - Castle in the Desert …

I'll never forget when Steely Dan's Aja album came out. It was an event for sure. When I got my copy, I read every album note and couldn't get enough of Peg, Josie and Deacon Blues. And Josie! Well I could only hope to meet Josie one day. (TMI: I never met Josie).

The album notes went something like this …

"It's going to be called "AJA." "The new one is coming soon, I heard the title will be AJA; all original material."

Not that a Spy Story eBook could ever match the excitement from those days when music from Steely Dan was on the way. But still. When Mission 2, Castle in the Mountains ended, one spy, Tara, had two bullet holes in her leg and her best friend, Léa, had been taken hostage by the bad guys. Not quite like being frozen in carbonite, but when best friends are forced apart by bad guys, it's about as close to an Empire Strikes Back moment as you'll get in a galaxy close to home, not so long a time ago. So …

It's going to be called: Castle in the Desert. Mission 3. The new one is coming out soon.

Listening to Steely Dan's Aja album while I write this, I'm caught up in the excitement of something new. Something coming soon. Something that will be in your hands later this summer. Just as soon as the author puts the finishing touches on the story. Just as soon as the cover artists at Damonza creates the cover. Just as soon as Amazon published the page.

The time for creating and writing is almost over. It's almost time for searching for type-o's and sentences that make no sense at all to wrap up. It's time to rescue Léa. Capture a few bad guys and learn their secrets. And it's time for music.

Like Steely Dan's Josie playing in my headsets as I write this, music plays a big part in the creating and writing of Léa and Tara's adventures.
